tips on attaching rear screen surround

I have been constantly masticking / glueing the plastic bead surround on the rear window of my project and it has shrunk...

it did have a new window installed by the previous owner and that is good, so dont really want to get a new roof yet as its not in too bad condition,,

Last night i pulled all the trim off and noticed there is a fused join in it.. what i think i am going to do is cut at the fused join and stick it back on with a small gap in either the bottom or top middle of screen, i going to give it a good clean today with solvent and use some adhesive.

Any tips on what adhesive to use ?

A silicone adhesive would be best bet so it sticks but remains pliable.

To be honest mate I think you will be wasting your time whatever you do, there is quite a bit of tension on the rear screen and IMO anything other then a zip or stitched is a waste of time and effort
