I've started this thread to put it in the right location.

I'm trying to keep it simple and cost effective. By using a BMW tonneau cover and my bulkhead it gives me the approx size and height that I need. I also have another body shell available that I can use to trace out the shape of the opening around the hood. I will probably make this section out of cardboard covered in duct tape and release agent so that the gel coat will release. You can't use plasticity as it would stick to the gel coat and you would never get it off which would ruin the mould.
It was mentioned about having a folding cover so that it would fit in the boot. I have an RS Daytona 365 spyder replica that has exactly this and it works well so I was going to try and do the same although having a one piece cover would look better.

With making the cover template, this is going to be from the Blue Peter school, sticky back plastic, tape and pipe cleaners.
