Too cheap, or worth the risk?

Too late. I've bought it.

I tried to gas the Fauxrarri, and it pished out of the condenser. I took the old one off and compared it to the spare one that I had. The M one is about six inches less tall than the standard one. Nobody that I can find will recore a condenser.

I expect Brexit Tax to pay, but if I can get it for less than £150, it's a bargain.

Also, when I had the front end stripped, I noticed that the water radiator was sagging. Pingu the skinflint has a cunning plan and is making some straps to hold it all together and looking square. What could possibly go wrong?

Looks a bargain.

Always thought the standard radiator is a flimsy thing so get your money out and get a Mishimoto

As its preowned, likely an OEM one? Could be a bargain if OK.

I though so too but when I looked at them I couldn’t be sure which were made in China or not and complaints about the fittings not being solid and it not fitting directly / neatly.

So whilst I usually ‘upgrade’ from OEM I wasn’t sure it worth the hassle as the cooling system has been enough of a headache, all ok though now it’s all been replaced and ditched the viscous for an electric fan.

@Pingu I ran my original rad bowed for years - never failed despite the multiple fan and pump failures and marks from two failing viscous blades!

I changed it as a precaution at about 130k miles.

Then the viscous kissed the new rad on track so was replaced again(!) along with an electric fan conversion.

The problem that I had was that the bow was straining the oil cooler that fits under it.

I held it in a press to make it square, and made some steel straps for the front and the back.

That’s too neat to even call it a bodge, looks OEM ;)
Are steel straps what one graduates to after passing cables tie school?
