These surveys always mix apples with oranges.
in what way can an off roader that climbs mountains be compared to an Aygo that is driven by a granny?
in general terms yes, we can understand some brands tend to have issues, but unless we see the demographics and the variables of these surveys we can just assume.
How many if these 25.000 owners had a Land Rover and how many had a Kia?
What was the variable of projection to the total?
Further more we all know this guy with a Toyota who’s car “never had a problem in 450.000 km” “except some little issues -blown gasket-oil cosumption-broken subframe- that dont count as problems because they “are a Toyota thing”.
in general, yes, the more gizmos a car has, the more problems may appear, but ever since I was brainwashed by my friends and bought a Lexus, I do not believe a single word about them being reliable.
It kept going every week to the shop for troubleshooting in the batteries until they decided that they have to replace the whole circuit including the ECU.
they took it back apparently refunding me in full.
in the meantime my wife still drives a 2012 Range Rover that is well taken care of and in ten years she had z-e-r-o issues. Zero as in not a visit to the shop for other reason than regular maintenance.
Sorry for being so “vertical” on this but that's how it is from my experience.
i may be an exception….
