Hi,
My 99 1.9l Z3 came without a CD changer so I have a hole where it should be.
Does anyone know whether a trim piece was used to cover the hole and if so part number?
Alternatively if anyone has a CD changer to cover the hole, I would be interested in purchasing.
Many Thanks
Brian

Hi Brian, you will need to source a "humpless" boot carpet liner.
I got one from Andy, @spurs fan in a coupe a few years ago he may have one.

Does your car have an electric roof? The trims you need are very slightly different depending on if you have the reservoir on the left or not.

Hi,
Thanks for the feedback - very much appreciated.:)
Sadly, I have a manual roof but looking positively I guess that is one thing less to worry about :).
I have just been looking at some of the BMW blurb that came with the car when new in '99. I think my car did have a cd changer but the radio looks original as it is a BMW one - it has a radio and a tape to tape cassette. Both these functions work all OK. No CD player.
In the blurb it says that a cd changer plays through the radio/cassette but I have no further info on this. Also I do not know what connections/brackets I need.
Bit tempted now to try and put things "back to how they were" so any advice on a cd changer, how it functions and what is needed to make it work would be hugely appreciated. A quick look in the boot shows a black multi pin socket so I guess this plugs into the changer????

Thanks in advance for your help
Kind Regards
Brian

There should be a multi plug in the boot, it may have been pushed behind the carpet, to be fair finding a CD unit should be relatively easy, most people remove them to get more boot space.

I’ve got a non-cd changer boot carpet set, for a manual roof.

Or I have the cd changer (untested) and cradle if you want to go back to as it was.

I’m in Woking, Surrey
