Afternoon,

Just after a little advice...have any of you guys tuned/chipped a 2.8 1998 Z3?

Any good/bad experiences?

Thanks.

Not exactly a glowing report there then
I think that thread shows that sometimes it's a little less straight forward than a quick tweak!

What is it you are look for from a remap. More power, fuel economy?

More power......fuel economy can't be that important in a 2.8 anyway!

All I've found is about £350 for 12hp ECU remap..

Is your zed completely standard? It's usually worth tinkering with the engine induction and exhaust before a remap to get the best out of the engine.

The standard air box is pretty restrictive.

Yes as far as I know...certainly standard exhaust anyway

Do the Z3s tend to lose a bit of power over time?

All cars loose power over time, injectors get dirty, breathers get clogged general wear and tear.
Good service first, check air filter, split induction pipes which allow extra air after the MAF, crankcase breather clean, split vacuum pipes. all needs to be in good order before a remap is considered in my opinion.
