I had my wheels of today and my O/S rear tyre is scrubbed on the inside edge to the point that I am concerned about driving the car, the N/S is also worn on the inside edge but nowhere near as bad, I had them off a couple of weeks ago and they both looked the same with uneven wear on the inside, I put it down to lowering and camber and was going to get them swapped over, any ideas why one would wear so badly so quickly,

Knackered subframe bushes could get the toe out? (it's more the toe than the camber that eats them).

The O/S one on my Z3 wore more than the N/S once they got thin Sean, I just put it down to more use with just a driver (sod off @hard top), have they got past the point of swapping sides?

Tony.

And doing donuts without and LSD will do this. Get an LSD and wear them both down evenly ;)

I don't do donuts however I do favour left hand bends, the wear has been very fast and drastic on that tyre, instead of the edge been rounded its actually a J shape

The wear lines look like they are going across the tyre as if I have been going side ways

Mine went very quick too - they need turned every 3k to get around 14-15k out of the rears.

7k the rest of the tyre wear looks great
That's not too bad assuming it's not on the cords on the inside and 5mm on the outside.

On the wide rims (9,5j rears) I'd need to swap them over by 6k miles to be able to keep them legal and have 2mm + on the inside and around 4mm outside.

Seems a bit less sever with the narrower rims but still eats inside more (well it would do given it squats more under acceleration which increases camber and toe at the time the the most wear is happening I guess).

Well haven't you?
If not why not??
I have a s*** load of rear grip and have to push very hard to go sideways to the point it behaves like a fecking Vauxhall and under steers.

My 2.0 was like that too Sean, especially with the K&W set up.

I know what you mean.
I'm loving the 7,5j rears I'm running now.
With the 9,5j it's glued to the road in the dry.

Higher tyre pressure will help take the wear off the edges and may help it be more 'adjustable' on the right foot.

It sounds like subframe bushes, uneven rear tyre wear is not uncommon on these cars. My E30 which has the same suspension, always wore its back tyres on the inside, sometimes wearing them out in 12,000 miles or less. It also depended on tyre brand, cheap Hankooks lasted longest but quality tyres tended to wear out quicker. I went through quite a few in the 185,000 miles I owned it. funnily enough, the Zed doesn't suffer from it.

My Z3 was on 17's mate. When I put those 17" Turbine's back on it going to look crap now it's lowered a bit as well.

It's not the diameter but the width, put 4 fronts on (7,5j) and a 205 or 215 tyre.

I like those turbines, just space them out, will look nice.
