One of my workmates was showing off this new gadget today and its brilliant. Its an Endoscope camera that connects to your phone, available in different lengths, has dimmable LED lights, stills capability and its waterproof, all for £8. Endless possibilities for this, but thought it may be good for checking your piston bores! Downside is that it takes 3 weeks to come from HK. Not sure if there is an Apple version.

@Eddie Zedder They are a good tool to have - I bought one from Maplins a few years ago primarily for looking under floorboards during a DIY project but have used it on the car as well. You need to make sure they have a good enough light for those dark areas - that was the disappointment with mine- kept having to use supplementary lighting.

Thanks @jonco , the light seemed OK on this one, tried it in a closed drawer and you could read the print on paper. Me mate stuck it up his trouser leg but I didn't particularly want to see that! The possibilities are endless!
