Does anyone know what this vacuum canister is for or where it should be connected? The hoses were loose and I am not sure where they were to go. Im not even sure if someone didnt disconnect it in the past.

Its under the intake manifold between the starter and alternator.

Will have a better look this weekend. There is a solenoid under the forward side of the manifold that I think connects to the fuel tank.

Do you have one of those butterflies on the exhaust tail pipe? Don't know for sure, but it could have something to do with it.

Not sure but that would make sense. The car was fitted with an aftermarket quad exhaust when I got it. There are some wires and bits near the rear bumper.

The car is a late 98 with the M52tub28. Not sure if they had exhaust flaps.

The whole thing will go then. I'm cleaning up as much as I can while it's apart over the winter.

I just removed one of these from a car I had in. We found another little valve solenoid in the boot on the left, this then fed the valve on the exhaust.
