Very annoying !

Every now and then I get an annoying chitter/rattle above my right ear. It comes from a very thin plastic piece one the first roof hinge as in the pictures,

It appears there is something between the plastic and the steel, whether it's original or an addition to stop this rattle I don't know. Have any other E85 Z4 owners had this issue. You only have to touch the plastic and it stops rattling so it can't be much.

I'm thinking maybe stick a bike tyre inner tube repair patch onto the metal piece to stop the plastic touching it?

I have an annoying rattle in my ear too. For the avoidance of doubt it's the right ear and coming from the roof.
For some reason my left ear is throbbing
