Well today i payed a visit to Russell to get some tips on machine polishing the Zed. I must say he is a top guy and knows his stuff when it comes to detailing. He has shown me how to get the best results and not to be afraid of inserting more pressure when using the Rotary.
Needless to say all the Pads that have come with the Machine Polishers i have purchased are now safely in the Bin and have just ordered the following
Yellow 3M Compound
Blue 3M Polish
3" Soft Backing Plate
3M Blue 3"Pad
3M Green 3"Pad
3M Yellow 3" Pad
Shield Wax
Masking Tape
Thanks to Russell O i am now £160 lighter in my pocket but if it gets the results Russ can achieve it will certainly be money well spent.
Can not stress enough what a top guy he is.
Thanks Russ for all your time today

Russ is a fabulous great and helpful guy and I know he is and will be very pleased to help everyone he can with advice and guidance.

Can I make an observation and a plea though?
This is effectively Russ's day job. He will help anybody who asks. But - Please remember he also has bills to pay. If you can, help him when he helps you. It's only fair that we give something in return. Try and give, or at least feed some real money earning business his way if you can. Help Russ so he can afford to continue to help us all. Just saying.

Its clear how hard up Russ is - he couldn't even afford to give me a cuppa when I was there last

Ok Russ - you can give me that £20 now =))

Mmmmm recommended to me by Obsidian detailing after spending a couple of days with him, you must be doing some serious value cars to be using products like that mate, dig deep sounds like you're in for a hefty one. I tried the Autosmart ones and decided they were too harsh so settled on the yellow ones but i always do a final slow wipe with the boa, does for me but then again i am only doing the cars on my drive.

Don't get me wrong dude, I use the costco ones when polishing stages but they get put in the wash bag for final work.
Every one to their own isn't it. I have a Maserati MC12 to do soon.(Serious car) and don't think the guy would like me to turn up with Costco towels.
