as title, i have been offered oem hoops for £80 but i dont have the mounts, think i would prefer the chrome, they dont have to be structural as they are just for a wind blocker.

Why not, how many Z's have you seen rolled? The screen is the main roll protection and any extra has to be more protection than none at all.

not fussed about the safety aspect, if i were i would not be driving:) for most people driving is the most dangerous thing they will do, they just dont realize this fact as we all drive every day.. there was some argument a while back concerning the idea that these bars could cause more injury if you were to roll, now that does concern me just a little, but then people go under the knife everyday in the per suite of perfection for the sake of vanity.

Not all are the same Stacey, the ones in my Z3 reach above seat height, but I would agree that ones that don't are totally useless really.

not entirely useless as you can use them for a wind blocker. if they are lower than the seat they dont look right, but you can buy one piece items, they block off the storage box though, but thats ok as mine is just an on board skip ( my z driving is a solo affair as it messes up her hair so she wont get in, but if i give anyone a lift i have to clear all the part finished projects off the passenger seat into the storage box. i plan on putting a sub in there so the storage box will soon be gone).
