My Boot gas strut ( 1 of two that holds the boot open) before I look elsewhere does anyone have on they want to sell?

Not got one Jim but £12 from these people. there are used ones on ebay but I never trust these as they are all the same age as the ones on the cars and liable to fail

A brand new pair of struts is around £22 delivered from eBay. At that price it's just not worth getting second hand units. I just did this last month to my car, results and video is in this thread:
