What are these?

Any ideas, I've had them for years, were left in a garage.
They are about 1.5 kg and about 6cm by 6 cm. I have quite a few

Many years ago I took out an original Victorian sash window and made a replacement double-glazed one for my bedroom (and it worked:thumbsup:) and the weights were long, thin, made of lead, and had a hook moulded in for the cord. So probably not like the one up above, then.

Doing a bit of research think they are makeweights, so an addition to the main weight. They do get sold at a similar size to those i have. i reckon they guy made them up in his spare time.
