So I have been looking most of this year and only one car has caught my eye.

She's a late 2004 E46 M3. 90,000 on the clock. Fresh brakes, Miltek exhaust system and some carbon goodies.

Planning to see it this Sunday with the intention of placing a deposit if she's as clean as the owner states.

Great looking motor @Lee, lovin' the colour, let's hope it's as good as the pictures suggest. Good luck.:)

Nice colour, I've always liked the E46.

I'm a coupe man myself

It shows a Hardtop in one of the photos but not stated in the advert. I will ask because he's asking quite a high price.

Well I've spent the last few months researching these E46's and found the Manual a better option due to the cost of braking an SMG box. Also with the manual I can control the rev's :D

The only unknown at the moment is the condition of the rear sub frame. They suffer the same problem as the zeds but far worse.

Yes I have heard the smg' scan be fragile although can be modded apparently for quicker changes etc.

It's really surprising BMW hadn't resolved the subframe issues on their cars by this time isn't it you would have thought they had learnt their lesson by 2004.

I suppose the other thing to look out for is has it had the shell bearings changed as they were susceptible to premature wear due to the higher rev limit.

I was going to ask about this but thought it may be patronising, glad you are going to check it :)

This is one of the reasons why I have gone for the 54-06 plate. Most of these wear issues had been ironed out by the time they got this far into production.

But as a piece of mind I will replace the crank bolts and inspect the shells.
