Hello,

So I've read a lot of different stories on here about upgrading wheels, the impact of different offsets/wheel widths etc.

I need some advice for my car and hoping you can help! I have the 2.8 pre-facelift widebody z3 and i'm looking to upgrade my wheels from 17" to 18", the wheels I like also have a slightly different wheel width/offset.

Current wheel setup is OEM and sizes are as follows:
Front:
17"x7.5j et41
Rear:
17x8.5j et41

Proposed wheel setup:
TSW Valencia alloys (https://www.tsw.com/alloy_wheels_valencia.php)
Front:
18x8j et32
Rear:
18x9.5j et40

Questions:
Will the widths/offsets on the increased wheel diameter fit the pre-facelift 2.8? I'm particularly worried about the front offset and rear width.
Will this create inaccurate speedometer readings due to increase in wheel size?
Any other considerations? Is suspension going to impact this in some way (currently OEM suspension setup but looking to lower)?

Thanks,
James

Hi mate. I have 18" Style 193 (MV3s) on mine over winter, staggered set-up with 225 front and 255 rears, not sure of the offset. Mines lowered by 30mm and has no issues.

Thanks both - will use that link when ready, may hold fire until winter is through anyway but good to know a tool is there.

Those are some lovely looking wheels.

The rears will be no issue at all.

The fronts will minorly pretrude the arch approx. 3mm but no more than mine do currently which pretrude by 5mm.

You may find that the plastic arch liner will get rubbed a little. They are a one piece as a full arch liner.
