I want a wide tire stance on my z but I don't know how wide I can go. What's the max on our cars for 1.9? I don't mind fender rolling but I was wondering If I can fit 275 40 17 in the back? Or something close to that? What can I make out on the front without rubbing so hard? Thanks for the help!

Welcome Paul,

What wheels your got on there at the moment? Standard zed rims?

Is it that you want wider tyres or that you want the wheels to fit the arches better. If its fill the arches, you could try some wheel spacers instead. Certainly cheaper than replacing all 4 tyres!

I like the look of thick tires and they are standard zed width. Would 265 40 17 rear and 235 40 17 front clear or would I have to fender roll? Would this mess up my handling capabilities because I love taking my zed through the twisties.

I have 18" on ours with 255/35 rears and 225/40 fronts looking at the car i could go wider. But you will certainly need to go for wider wheels as there would be too much stretch on standard ones. Our rears are 9"

I was thinking 17's with 10.5 in back at 265 40 17 possibly 275? And 235 40 17 in front. What do you think?

It's all going to come down to the offset if you want to run that size. My fronts are pushing it on 225/40/18 with a 40 offset, but it's made it through 2 MOTs so far. So you would need to find some rims with a lower offset so they come back in side the arches, but not too far!

There is a nifty offset calculator you can tinker with here - http://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Wheel-Offset-Calculator
