Window regulators

Our daughter has and audi TT and the electric window regulator has just packed in. The wires snag up and jam up. Seems to be a common problem and she had it on her previous one. What a pain in the neck to get it apart, it's taken me 1.5 hrs just to find my way in hidden fixings all over. Still got to get the old one out so looks as if i'll be busy on Saturday still saves £150 labour.

Glad BMW's are more reliable.

It's about 3 minutes to get to the regulator on the Z3... What year is her TT?

My brother has had two TT Cabrios, brand new, after three years, only problems.
Would never touch another one.

1 st one was 2002 and this is 2008. I guess it must be to do with the window moving each time the door is opened and closed

The Eos does the same thing drops the glass by about 10mm when you open the door and lifts it when you close it. Freelander MK1 had the same thing on the tailgate glass too a real pain with a few years on them.

Z3 coupes also drop the glass on opening the door, read they sometimes have problems too but more to do with not dropping or not going up when door shut.

Changed the regulator this afternoon not too bad a job so daughter is happy again. This is the cause of the grinding noise when raising or lowering the window.

The quality of even modern German car parts are coming under more scrutiny these days.

That was a 2008 car and from the passenger side so not used as much. The drivers had been replaced before she got it.

We've done a couple on Z4's at work Brian, strangely enough, both on the n/s window too.
