I've ordered a new windshield trim which arrived today. The part itself is pretty cheap, about £30 delivered. The job to replace must be very simple, as there is no adhesives used - just press fit.

But not in my case. Apparently windscreen on my car has been replaced before as it too good for its age. So someone who did the job just put back the trim before windscreen compound sets. Therefore old trim, which was perished, ad literally falling apart was glued to bloody windscreen and windscreen frame. Took me 2 hours to remove it and clean the frame. The biggest single piece was about inch long, others even smaller. What a horrible job!

Once frame cleaned - 5 minutes t get new trim installed.

I can sympathise with you there. Get cars like that in work all the time. Nothing worse than going to do a job and find out the person before has done some botch up job:mad:

And this is just a matter of reading repair manual! Seems many people not reading either!

Your right. Part of the problem is too many people charge into jobs they think they can do without any research. I've worked on cars since leaving school and that was nearly 30 yr ago and I do new stuff all the time you can never learn everything about every car a bit of research does no harm.
