E89 Wiper Disaster

Word of warning. I was changing the wipers on the Z4 the other day and with the blade off and the arm sprung up being a clumsy git I knocked the arm which then smacked onto the windscreen.

And yes there is enough force in the e89 wiper arm to smash and crack the windscreen

New screen coming Saturday

Or put a towel on the screen

Seen it happen many times over the years. Very easily done, since I did it years ago I never leave the arms up with no blade attached. Bad luck mate.

look at the positives. A nice pristine clear windscreen with no chips, marks or scratches. You don't notice how bad a screen gets, until you have had a new one

True that Pete had a new one for the Z3 4 years ago due to grit blasting etc. Huge difference. Every cloud eh

You are not alone, cracked the wifes Suzuki Alto windscreen today whilst trying to get the wiper arms off their spindles to get at a blocked washer jet pipe. Oh dear I said, shame it wasn't the Z4, that could do with a new screen. New screen for the Alto ordered.

New windscreen fitted yesterday, all good now, MOT on it next week, not expecting anything to fail it on, have given it a good check over.
