wipers

hi had a problem with the wipers, in that they would stop working, or would not switch of, i am sure i have read a how to on this site but could not find it again but did manage to find it on bimmerforums.com all it was was a build up of grease on the contact plate easy fix cost nothing but time about 45 mins thats all, you cant thank the people on these sites enough in the fact how they go and solve a problem then share it, so a big thank you to all the people who run these sites and those who contribute

Hi Phil, likewise had same problem on my Alpina me and my very well qualified mechanic mate sorted it same as you removing grease off the contact plate, great site and top people

Did you get this resolved? Its a known issue also if you get a double sweep its very often that the wiper relay needs replacing.
The wiper motor fix is a fairly doable DIY even for a novice? Not sure of your experience. The biggest problem is removing the plastic panel below the screen without damaging the clips.
