Could this still work in a RHD non Z3M?....I can see the handbrake is on the 'wrong' side but any other potential issues?

A LHD console is a mirror image of a RHD console.

LHD is angled to the left and RHD is angled to the right.

It will be interchangable if you want your passenger to see the gauges and operate the heater. Not much use to the driver, though .

Handbrake lever on wrong side could be an even bigger issue as you would also need to get a lhd Handbrake lever and the issue will probably be that your zed wont have the 3 tapped holes to mount it in the shell in that side of your zed.

I'm not sure these parts are handed, other than the cigarette lighter being on the wrong side.

It is the frame of the console that is handed and angled to face the driver.
