Just an idea that I got from the Dutch forum due to being able to upload youtube links on there as well.
They have a section for this, so if you feel that a vid might be a bit of fun or whatever, you post it on there.

You could call it "Gazhyde's film corner"............. :-?

Also they have a section called 'Interesting Adverts' that works very well.

On a busy forum I go on which is also a phpBB forum

we have great success with a shoutbox at the bottom of the index page.

for those who don't know a shoutbox is a box that you can put text into it to have real time chat

with people that are on line the same time you are

it is not text that is kept it will be lost after say 30 posts.

That's another website I run for the, ahem, discerning gentleman! ;)

It's a good idea though. We are looking at the current forums & sub forums to make sure they are relevant or not, so will add this idea to the to do list. It's going to be a job for one of our new moderators...

We have something similar with the Chat Page - http://zroadster.org/z-stuff/chatroom/. It's integrated in to the main site, but will take James some effort to integrate it into the forum.

I've seen other sites with a 'shout box' so will have a look at the mod's forums and add it to the list.

We have to be careful making changes to the site as it's become so popular. We used to be able to make changes during the day when it was quiet, but the only time it's quiet now is around 2am to 6am!

If we get a list of stuff that we would like then we can work on doing it all in the next update. The only problem with phpbb is that you have to alter the code to make the mods work so when a new version of phpbb comes out you have to go through all the edits again which can be a pain if there are a lot.

Its no problem for me to do it. I will document everything so that when someone else picks it up they should be able to see all the modifications made :)

"Delete" button

Just a thought for the nice-but-not-essential list:
Is it possible to have a delete option on your last "live" post to overcome the inadvertent double post?

Hi Hardtop :-h
How about a seperate slot for all the different areas:- The Mad Hatters Party!!! alias The East Anglian Crew :ymdevil: - The Alien Invasion!!! :ymalien: alias Maurice the Martian, Swamper and Titan in the North. etc etc etc. :baa

It would be good to be able to see what's on in your area, without having to keep your eyes peeled 8-|

Not that any of us prefer our own company :D, Although everyone enjoys the banter, it would help people to see if they were able to join in because they would be able to tell what area the event was being held in. :coolsteer)

Might also help when organising National Events such as Zfest, to see who from the area is motoring up and when :-bd

On my first read of this I didn't quite get it. After thinking about it for a while (slow brain cells tonight), I think you might have something here Mike!

My only concerns are as to whether it ends up as a clique, but from what I have seen of T.E.A.C. that isn't the case for you lot! ;)

I'll have a think about the best way we can implement something like this. If each region is easily identifiable then that would make it easy for people to see who is about in that region. I don't think "The Mad Hatters Party" works, but "The East Anglian Crew" does!

Example we could have a forum called 'Regional Groups' with the established groups/regions as sub-forums. Planned cruise would still need to be publicised in the correct section to make sure you get maximum coverage!

Leave it with me, and we will have a think!

Thanks for looking at our suggestion, Gazza. 'The Mad Hatters' was a term of endearment and a description of the crew as a whole,) not a title. As for becoming a clique, East Anglia appears to stretch as far as Wales, isn't that right, Hornel alias Paul. The 'Ms' must have broader horizons. :ymdaydream:

From where I am, Swamper is a veritable southerner!
It may however be useful to have a (semi) regional basis for meets
I can feel some interesting names coming along though - Titan's Tykes for us White Rosers (where's my icon Gaz ????)
And Snoops' Surfers over on t'other side etc :ymdevil:

Just another suggestion.....an 'Official' Complimentary Slip with the Z Org logo and a welcoming 'tag' line like for instance "For those interested in Z cars and the people that drive them" (not sure about that?? but something similar) :-? plus a web address and contact details.
These to slip under a wiper blade of any Z seen on travels as a bit of advertising :ymhug: .
A line to write your own Pseudonym to introduce yourself maybe. Perhaps four or five on an A4 sheet so they can be printed and secreted somewhere in the car or about ones person ;;)

Just an idea to spread the word on a semi official level rather than scrawling indecernable words on bits of Tesco reciepts as I do.

Already got the design ready for that one on Vistaprint. Just waiting the official logo design, and will distribute with car stickers, or on request...

Hi all,

I've just ordered a 1000 of these business card size! Design on the front and blank on the back for you to scrawl a note if you want to.

Will take a week for them to arrive, so hopefully can distribute them in with the stickers. I will have to make a small charge to cover the cost and postage, but this shouldn't be much at all.
