It's a pit it's on Facebook! I wouldn't go anywhere near Facebook, as I just don't want to support that horrible company in any way...

Do you know if it's advertised somewhere else?

Pretty ..although with that mileage I’d be put off using it as that’s where its value is… just becomes an ornament. Unless it has a good service history I am usually put off cars with ultra low mileage.. not good for them not to be run.

It certainly looks like a lovely car. For a lot of Z3 fans, this is the dream spec 2.8 wide body etc etc. It’s a pity that the previous owners haven’t had the enjoyment of actually driving it, but I guess it’s a nice trinket to look at. Hopefully it sells for somewhere near that…who doesn’t want Z3 values to be strong? It annoys me that all the interesting stuff for sale is on FB, and not on here.

One thing that is different about this forum compared to many is it’s not just another online market place. ….you have to scroll through a couple of pages to even find the for sale section. I hope it stays like that. No idea why so many people use FB market place to sell high value items...has to be one of the most insecure platforms out there with zero seller protection.

I'm really only on f book to buy or sell items. What's the problem? You don't get extortionate ebay fees! I will only deal with a person face to face so where is the security risk?

Well only the inherent risks of dealing wth people you dont know face to face with no comeback if they rip you off. Ebay charge fees, even if you think they are too high, because they provide a secure platform and services to protect both the buyer and seller.

It's no different to buying anything from a private seller or selling privately. You just need to be careful and check what you're buying. Never had a problem . On the otherhand I had numerous problems selling and buying on ebay. Bought all the zeds I've had privately after looking at crap examples at garages.

I agree.. you need to be careful.. he says having bought his first Zed privately without even seeing it  . All I was suggesting is that large open marketplaces with national reach (like FBMP, Gumtree etc), are a prime stalking grounds for scammers and crooks.. and they offer no protection or recourse if it all goes Pete Tong.

It's like having a girlfriend who's a supermodel, but you just stay in every night and just look at her. All you're doing is saving her for the next bloke

My 2000 2.8 Facelift Japanese import with 22k was a bit less than that last year from a dealer. It needed a fair amount of re-commissioning due to failing rubber parts and Vanos etc. l looked at it, that I can fix mechanical/electrical issues myself but not bodywork and welding so the lack of rust was the key thing for me. Not sure a UK car would have the same appeal.
It was bought with the intention of being a daily and I have put 4k on it in a year. It would have been more but my wife and I are commuting together at the moment in her car (40mpg+). Given the cost of new cars I saw it as a cheap option for a car I actually wanted but maybe that’s man maths😁. I think you need to go into these things with your eyes open a twenty+ year old car will need some work.

Sorry to see you're selling your lovely Z3 Davie, but I would suggest that you start your own "For Sale" thread mate. That way it will get more chance of someone seeing it.

Good luck with the sale too.

Tony.
