I have read that the z3 2.8 weighs in at 1500kg? Is that accuratehas anyone had the chance to weigh their vehicle?

I'm looking to perform an engine oil change and spark plugs, nothing concrete on oil or spark plugs. I was going to go for some bosch spark 4 and 5w-40 oil.

Any input, recommendations I will be greatful.

The BMW 2.8 Manual states 1510kg Gross Weight. Page 23 of the 2.8 Supplementary Handbook.

The curb weight of 2.8 is 1360 kg and max gross of 1510 kg so can carry 150 kg of people and luggage.

Apparently 5-40 is the recommended spec for newer engines but as the engine ages a more viscous varient is better for the engine, especially the top end, 10-40

Mine weighed in at 1406kg and includes pretty much every option (roll hoops, sub, amp, heated electric seats, electric hood, AC, 17inch staggered style 78 wheels).
That was with 1/4 tank of fuel and 75kg driver.

Not much chance of that happening. The way I see it, the extra weight in the cockpit helps to compress the springs a few more mm and so adds to the road holding qualities as the underside of the car is kept closer to mother earth.

Anyway, it's not all lard under my clothes =))
