Tried to install the tonneau (first fitting), but couldn't get it to clip at the back because the border of the wind deflector is too wide… Surely BMW could have made the tonneau fittings a bit longer.

Anyway, I will get it fixed next time...

You need the extended tenax bolts to run the wind deflector and the tonneau. All new tonneau’s came with them. There is a chap in Germany that sells them but they are not cheap

You cant fit the tonneau and the factory wind deflector together unless you get a set of the longer tenax screws.
You should be able to get the tonneau fitted in place without clipped on
