Hey team, has anyone got an outside storage box solution they have used to store hard top during the summer months?

Something like a min-garden shed thing like this ....

If anyone has purchased something similar let me know cos then I will know it fits :-)

Have you got the trolley.
I was thinking of using the trolley to hold up on the garage ceiling.
It'll hold the bottom due to the supporting bars when laid horizontal, id like to think the large strap and buckle will hold the roofs leading edge.
I was looking at using an old roof rack on the back, secured together by similar brackets you'd use on a top box to roof rack, it'd be adjustable to find the centre weight for straight lift up..
Problem is it's a scary process and I ain't stepping forward to catch it if it drops 🤣...

I was thinking the same, suspend it from the ceiling - doesn´t look that big on the car - then you take it off and its fekkin huge - I might just get a waterproof cover and lean it standing up down the side of the house (behind a gate)

Only thing ive noticed with the roofs having been in storage...is the roof lining coming away in places which id guess if it did it on mass it'd actually hang down near touching your head ?.
IMO id not be storing outdoors, weather's to unpredictable and the roofs are 25 years old plus as is the bonding agent and sparse electrics for thr rear window demister.

Honestly, if I was single id have zero issues re storing stuff.

Your right, not ideal outside - Blade in the front lounge is a strong look though :-)

I reckon the best storage solution for a hard top is at someone else’s house after they’ve paid you £800 - £1000 for it. You miss out on so many top down driving opportunities with it on long term over the winter.

Its a fair comment that, only had the roof since November last year and I did miss a good few days in the coming months before spring.
Flip side it's a good selling point when it comes as the build package is as it was in 2001. ( on mine )

My soft top is f****d so figured get a hardtop for winter and use the crappy (bit leaky) for summer until I can afford a new Soft top - method in my madness

£1,500 with fitting kit ....

These things. All are a bit crap in their own way, but essential in preventing water ingress if your car is left outside and not under cover. In winter I often use both.

As far as the roof goes, I would recommend visiting the man down in Swansea. Raymond Pugh. Aka Jack Smith Trimmers. A year ago it was costing £450 for a replacement hood. A few tips: call to make a booking between 8 and 9am and if you want it done soon, make a booking for a midweek day.

The great thing about Swansea is that you can go there the scenic route on some fantastic roads.

i had mine re covered, as the lining did exactly that, loose its glue and hung down even though its stored inside. but at least it gave me a colour change for the lining from beige to black, the beige matched the interior but looked tired and grubby, black made it look better...

but the cost was £200 to get it done, small cost INHO

i like your plans, if i were single again, id just become a hoarder=))

my ex army pal has his bike in his dining room ...

These people with only the one bike in the front room, eh? Got four in mine, along with two bicycles, And a Z3 hardtop that I really must put on here sometime, along with some of the fitting stuff.

There are several advantages to being single, which is lucky, really.
....any advance on four - are we done here, going once, twice - we have a winner :-)

The most boring update, second only to me posting a pic of my odometer reading exactly 120,000 - got a used Z3 custom cover for 80 quid - and the whole thing sits nicely in the "dead space" between the bench and the wall - so now its covered, inside and out of the way until Sept-October time ....
