For reference the OEM roofs have a universal fitting kit which fits all years (pre and post facelift).

As with most of us, Ben is also on other Z3 forums... and has asked the same question there.

So that all the information on hardtop fitting kits can be seen if others need it I have put the entire thread below rather than just the bit about the relay. You will see I have put a response on there which includes the unloader relay and a further thread link about it. Basically pre-facelift cars need it for the heated seats and facelift need it for the hardtop.

Ive just sold my facelift Z so can't take a picture of it but theres pics in the embedded threads but basically if you need it you can see a missing relay place in the fuse box in the bonnet - they are on ebay for a couple of quid.

Thanks Lee, looks like I'll need to install the unloader when I put heated seats in but as my car is a 97 won't need it for the HRW! JIM
