Hi Z3 and Z3 Coupe enthusiasts, I wanted to share a link to the Z3 Mud Guard Kickstarter effort I've been working on. You may have seen the links elsewhere on Facebook, but I am trying to generate enough support to fund injection molding tooling to bring these parts back to the community.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/z3replicamudguards/echo-tech-z3-replica-mud-guards

By contributing, you'll be rewarded with a set of injection molded high quality mud guards, if the Kickstarter succeeds. Also, if successful, moving forward these parts will be available for purchase well into the future in traditional online stores.

A lot of work has gone into the project up to this point, the campaign only has 13 days to go, so any help to get it past the finish line is highly appreciated! International shipping is available!

Saw this on Facebook. Looks good idea.

Any plans for the rear guards as well?

Hey that's great! I figured I may have overlapped with posting everywhere, but I'm hoping to get as much exposure to the project as possible.

As far as the rear guards go, the cost for injection molding tooling is so high, that I wanted to vet the front set first. If the Kickstarter is successful for the front guards, I'll likely return and try again for the rear set as well.

Sorry if I've missed it, but how much would I need to invest for a set of front mud guards?

If they were different to the BMW ones, you would not have any copyright issues, but I fear that making copies of the originals may land you in trouble.

How do BMW feel about these?

I would seek a letter from BMW confirming that they have no stock and are not planning to produce any more.

@Pingu I've done my best to ensure that these are being offered as replica parts, interpretive, re-engineered units. This being similar to reproduction replicas of various matched body panels, spoilers, and fenders that are reproduced with carbon fiber or fiberglass by various aftermarket businesses.

To the best of my knowledge, these parts are and have been NLA since around 2011 or 2012.

@Tearoom , if you follow the link to the Kickstarter page, you can create an account and pledge or contribute to the Kickstarter for one of the reward packages (#1, a clip set, #2, a full mud guard set, #3 2QTY full mud guard sets). In order for the Kickstarter to work, it has to meet it's fund raising target, in an all-or-nothing manner.

Good luck with it. I just don't want you to get burned.
