Z3 RADIO/CD/SAT NAV SYSTEMS

My BMW Z3 is presently fitted with a Sony Radio/CD System. I am looking to update the system but the requirements are radio/cd/hands free for android mobile and sat nav if possible. Has anyone fitted such a system into their beloved Z3 and if so could you provide the model number etc.., much appreciated. I have been tempted by an original BMW CD Player/radio system from the USA with the AM side of the radio having being adapted to take blue tooth linked to a mobile phone. Has anyone gone down this route. I'm always a little suspect with items sold on ebay from the USA.

Have a Pioneer MVH-X580DAB in mine.

Doesn’t have CD or Sat Nav. I play my music mainly via DAB radio or via Bluetooth from my phone.

I use Sat Nav on my phone. Attach my phone to the windscreen with a phone holder, and the use a USB cable from the front of the stereo to power the phone and also connect directly for sound and music.

Happy with this setup.

Thanks Jim, I have been toying with the idea of buying either a Sony mex5100bt, this looks to be the best option when trying to match the orange LED dash display lights but the Pioneer unit looks to tick most of the boxes. Using my mobile could be an option as a sat nav instead of buying a Garmin.

@Wiz member @Simon Blythe was unless I'm mistaken selling a stereo with built in sat-nav, BT and reversing camera, not sure if he still has it he may pop on if he see's this

I have the Sony MEX-n5200bt I picked up for ~£100. Mainly got it for multi colour and to hook up the amp for subwoofer. Had to send back because the bluetooth audio constantly crackled, until disconnecting for 5 mins, then manually reconnecting. Got it back and the phone audio doesn't work...not that it really worked before.

When it works its pretty good, but based on my anecdotal evidence be prepared to use your warranty.

I have a Becker Indianapolis in my Zed, no screen but the voice control is fine. Fits neatly into the slot and looks period. Purchased second hand and has work very well, took us to within 100yds of address in the Pyrenees. Has aux input for iplayer.

Ahhh that makes sense, so not specific to the M but to the HK system
