Just got my Z3M roadster delivered and it's a beauty (I'm sure everyone thinks that) Here are a few pictues!

Just a few quick questions about it:

For the automatic roof, is it normal to give it a bit of a helping hand when putting it down, or should I just need to unclip it and push the button?

Is the accelerator pedal normally a bit stiff, or is this something to look into?

I seem to hear a slight knock when I lift my foot off the clutch to put the car in gear - again is this normal or should I look into it?

Thankfully I have a few projects I want to do - Replace the radio, sort out a bit of play in the steering wheel or maybe even a new one, look to convert to a hardtop for the great scottish weather!

The accelerator pedal should not be stiff. You could look at the mechanism it connects to on the throttle body and may need a clean up and relubricating. After that if it’s still does not have a smooth operation I would replace the accelerator cable.

The roof is operated with the handbrake on and by depressing the brake pedal, you also have to lift up the front of the roof and you will hear the micro switch click on the the passenger side of the soft top frame. When closing use your hand to stop the roof slapping down near closing.

It’s a common feature on the Zeds when you lift up the clutch to hear a bit of play taken up, it can be minimised with replacing the gubo bush, and a refresh of bushes at the rear end and if you want to go that far a strip down of the diff and replace the crush sleeve but smooth gear changes help minimise any annoyance from it you soon forget it’s there.

Enjoy your ownership, one piece of advice I would offer is to have the outer sills off and check the inners for corrosion and take the Jack pads off and address any issues there. I’ve got a surprise on one of mine last week and it’s a bit nasty.

Thanks for the advice, I'll probably leave the bushings replacements a miss until I fix the other stuff!

I'll have a look at the throttle section today and see if I can order in parts to clean!
