Has anyone heard of this? Apparently it is a pipe attached to the bulk head to channel the induction noise into the cockpit, Myth or Fact?

Theres foam at each end a short bit an a longer bit.i took the long bit out.its a matter of try an see wot suits you.tbh it wasnt enough for me so I done a bypass mod on the rear box an now it growls lol
Yeah it's a real thing on the early 3.0i, although you can retrofit it to other models. It's a cheap fix to the fact that the Z4 exhaust tone is quite muted. There are two pieces of foam you can remove, and it's worth trying it with one bit taken out first.
When I bought my Z4 it already had the foam removed and was lost, but I found it a bit fake sounding coming from my Z3 with proper exhaust fitted.

Getting impatient now, wish I had brought it home straight away, not one for patience me, but got to tidy the 3 up before I put the 4 on the road, I know I would have changed my mind when it arrived home, so thats why I arranged to pick it up wednesday..
