They're RHD and do fit, just the steering clashes. They're from the 3 series.

Little coupe update. As I do alot of track days along with spirited driving I thought I would try out an RTD shifter.
Get the old girl in the air
you’ll need to remove the exhaust and propshaft. Remove the old two part linkage. Cut back a bit of the carpet.
get the shift central so the 3/4th throw is bang on central. You’ll need to drill 3 holes to bolt it to the tunnel.
I tried to refit the sound deadening but it would fit. So now I can hear the transmission slightly and get a bit of heat up the shifter.
Below shot showing the shifter bolted in using just one Linkage arm.
Now the shift throw is very short and being higher much easier to shift gear quickly.
then a track day to make sure everything works well
she’s such a capable car on track now, this setup proves you don’t need all the horse power to have fun and be really competitive on track.

Love the look of that shifter, in fact love the look of the Beast on track. Still not giving up on getting another.

So the car has undergone another transformation. There’s now development work being done on the N52 engines and they’re all pushing above 300bhp Naturally aspirated. Me being me jumped all over this so the coupes gone through the first stages of development. She’s currently just shy of 280bhp with the next stage still to come. I also even got to stretch her legs at the Ring a few weeks ago.

That was nearly an empty track at 8am, was up early so took Hollie out for her first lap. Was still foggy and looked all moody.

So a big update. After the new mapping went on she’s making between 280-290 bhp, but she also developed a start stop feature which is rather annoying. The revs dropped so quick the valvetronic couldn’t catch it and it would cut out, we spent a day trying to figure out what it could be. After spending a day out testing with the laptop we started noticing strange valvetronic readings and after a peak inside we could see the cam was goosed.

Later when I got back to the unit I took a look at the cam
So the reason why this matters is the N52 uses the cam/valvetronic motor to control the valve lift at idle if the gear is over worn like above it has too much play. So today I collected the last cam BMW had in country with new needle bearings and shells. Thought I would give it a go fitting myself.

luckily this cam is not a part of the timing so can be removed very carefully.

Now I just need to get the mapping redone

Age I would think mate. Not many coupe have reached this milage and I guess it depends how they’ve been used. This cam is constantly adjusting so fine tunes the idle etc.
So a long story short and not mixing my words I got messed about by BDS, the problem was caused by them trying to modify my existing map and causing chaos with my engine mapping. I called in a favour at RBM to flash my ECU back to stock and the car is now happy again. So 6 months of not having a correctly running coupes and spending literally thousands has left me a bit bitter about it. BDS won’t accept any blame so I’m having to move on and forget about it.
On a positive note though I’ve just done another trip out to the ring and she was faultless.

Thats a shame about BDS. 300bhp was an exciting prospect.
Worse that they have not admitted fault of any kind. Word travels fast around owners clubs.

had one just like that, i really shouldnt have got rid, but there we are......
was a great car on the road too, only disappointment, those wheels.... they were corroding on every bolt, and i couldnt find anyone who would touch them, saying the bolts sheer.

I had a set of those wheels and stripped them myself. Only broke one bolt out of 80.

It is a shame as they've done it to a few N52's now, I got tired with being messed about and not seeing my car for 6 months. As everyone knows I like to actually use my zed all year round.
