Little coupe update. As I do alot of track days along with spirited driving I thought I would try out an RTD shifter.
Get the old girl in the air
you’ll need to remove the exhaust and propshaft. Remove the old two part linkage. Cut back a bit of the carpet.
get the shift central so the 3/4th throw is bang on central. You’ll need to drill 3 holes to bolt it to the tunnel.
I tried to refit the sound deadening but it would fit. So now I can hear the transmission slightly and get a bit of heat up the shifter.
Below shot showing the shifter bolted in using just one Linkage arm.
Now the shift throw is very short and being higher much easier to shift gear quickly.

she’s such a capable car on track now, this setup proves you don’t need all the horse power to have fun and be really competitive on track.
