Hi all,
Advice needed. I have a E85 2.0i Sport on MV2 (style 135) alloy wheels. So fronts are 8J ET47 and rears 8.5J ET50. I'm looking at some aftermarket alloys that are - fronts 8J ET32 and rears 9J ET35. The tyre sizes are exactly the same as current.

A quick check on willtheyfit.com shows that -
Fronts - inner rim will be 15mm further away from the suspension strut. The outer rim will poke out 15mm more than before.
Rears - inner rim will be 8.6mm further away from the suspension strut. The outer rim will poke out 21.4mm more than before.

My car is meant to be MSport suspension, but it seems that the previous owner has put on standard SE springs. As a result the car sits visibly too high. I was considering either returning it back to MSport equivalent springs (15mm drop) or going the whole hog and putting them on Vogtland lowering Springs (30mm drop front & rear)

My question is, will these new aftermarket wheels cause rubbing or any issues if
a) I only change the wheels (and live with the ride height)
b) change wheels and MSport springs
c) change wheels and lowering springs (and get the wheels and ride height I ideally want)

Many thanks in advance for your advice.

Regards
Rick
