Z4 is now just a name and bears no resemblance to the original, just like a Mk5 Escort bears no resemblance to a Mk1 Escort.

The E89 was similar to the E85 / E86, but the G29 has probably not even got wheel bolts in common with the original.

I thought the govt's in some countries have announced that new cars with fossil fuel engines can't be sold after a certain date. No mention of how efficient an engine is.
I think conservative govt pushed the date back to 2035 but new labour govt want to bring it forward to 2030.

Unfortunately this was going to happen, car manufacturers are having to concentrate on EV, even if some will still produce ICE ones too.
Yes the UK are stopping new ICE from 2030 or 2035 unless its brought forward again, and the EU are doing similar.

The UK are also planning to fine manufacturers per ICE vehicle if they dont meet EV quota sales - potentially to the tune of 15K per ICE vehicle sold !! Thats a lot of profit swallowed, so to discourage ICE sales they'll limit the range on sale.

We'll probalby find that some sports cars will be desirable ;) and their value will hold / increase, upto a point. However at some point it will possibly decline as demand drops. Youngsters of today wont be interested and its doubtful they'll ever experience the pleasures we derive from driving such a car. Most wont even have a licence that enables them to drive them - unless they find an auto model.

Sports cars for most manufacturers are really a niche product, and as such will disappear.

So really make sure you've got a good un and enjoy
