Lovely day…about 120 cars out of the 150 turned up..

New format with cars sprinkled in different areas rather than all in one field…which I liked a lot

Sunny with a mild breeze

Good chat with folks

Very few Z3s..noticeable by their absence

Pleasant day..

My first Zed event with my 2.8 Z3.

Good to meet names from the forum and plenty of interesting conversations, but I was surprised by the low number of Z3s

A lovely way to spend a morning. It was nice to chat to some fellow owners and see some cars!

I was also surprised about the low numbers of z3’s

I also managed to find someone who lived in my village so bagged a ride home in an e85 m!
Fantastic engine!

Thank you for accommodating our “imposter” car!! I will bring the Z next time!

Sadly, I don't think that's the reason for the lack of Z3s Adrian. I have been commenting for a while about the few Z3s I see at events and on the roads. I put yesterday's Norwood Park show on the 'Events' section early this year, but there were only two Z3s there and neither were Zroadster or any other 'club' members. It's been the same all year, where are they? I regularly drive around Derbyshire and I know there are several Zroadster Z3 owners in the area, but I never see any.

There were 3 similar events this year we went to Zednation, see post, where there were 8 z3s, how many were at this and the other one?

Probably about 10 Z3 not including the owners…he stated that in the past about 50% of the 200 odd cars were Z3s…😢🤔😳

I believe the lack of Z3s is because there are becoming fewer on the roads due to the maintenance costs associated with keeping them roadworthy. Far cheaper to scrap them than repair them and so dwindling numbers.

We went to the Neath Classic Car Show on Sunday and we were the only Z3 in attendance, BMW Club had Z4's mostly E89's and a smattering of the big saloons a few M's amongst them. Multitude of old classics rather taken with a Rover 100 which was pristine and a good few Morris 1000's.

Wait until your Z4 is 26-28 years old and then the maintenance costs will speak for themselves.

Age is cruel to all mechanical objects …seems Z3 are largely rusting out?….later cars seem less susceptible to that issue through better design and more non ferrous components…
