Following on from a home visit to one of our members yesterday to sort out a sticking front Calliper on his Z4M I had another one at the shed today with exactly the same issue, seized piston and dry sliders, corrosion on the piston was pretty bad on this one, yesterdays piston outer seal wasn't seating properly, corrosion was minimum on the piston but have doubts about the internal surfaces, parts ordered for that one and todays will be getting a new Calliper fitted next week, after a clean up and lube it did free off but it will stick again over a short time so replacement best option with this one.
Second visitor today was Al with his recently acquired Audi TT, don't panic he still has his 2.8 Z3. Needed a Health Report Scan on the TT to see what brought the ABS light on. surprise Surprise just like the Z's it turned out to be a wheel speed sensor front right gone duff. New one ordered and will be fitted, will rescan and clear the code when done.

Hi Colin, is that Alun (Handsome Jack)?
He messaged me a while back, I replied but heard no more. He’s been quiet on here for ages too. If it is, say hello to him from me. Tell him I’ve still got my red 2.8, but have added to my fleet with Gookah’s fantastic 2.8

The 2.5 sticking calliper piston was sorted today, new calliper fitted, the original had a seized piston which refused to come out even with some attention from an air chisel, all that did was break the crown of the piston off. Calliper now by the driveway gate awaiting the scrap man to pass by.
New Calliper fitted and the slider pins given a coat of red rubber grease, calliper sliding surfaces on the carrier given a thin coating of copper grease as was the rear of the pads. Calliper bled and level checked in the reservoir. The fluid was tested and it shows a high water content so a complete fluid change is on the cards and may be new rear discs and pads. probably looking at doing these jobs later in the year. Road test and brakes now all ok.
