The other thing is :
I’m taking my Z3 on a car trip to Spain in September, there’s 5 cars going with 10 drivers , I want to do a list of things to replace before I set off
Gaskets
Seals
Pipes
Etc …
My Z3 has done 93000 miles , full service history,

Any advice would be helpful ??

Hi and welcome.
One pair of my grandparents lived in Abingdon for years and my sister is still in Wallingford.

Unless you are VERY lucky, your car will probably have some moisture inside it as it was sat in a garden and it's a Z3! ;) Take up the passenger seat front piece of carpet and check for moisture in the foam and if there is any sign, check the two DSC sensors under the black plastic cover on the floor.
These are the yaw and acceleration sensors for the DSC (dynamic stability control) and corrode and fail if sat in a damp or wet environment.

Yours should be OK at present, as it would fail an MOT if one or other (or both in my case) were faulty as the DSC light would not extinguish on the dash.
If they fail they are extremely expensive to replace (one is around £700 new, the other is £150).

Thanks , much appreciated.

Another query I would like to know , is how much power difference is it with or with out the traction control button on ?

I didn’t realise that it makes a difference to be honest 🙃

When you say traction control button....a 2001 Z3 doesn't have a dedicated TC button as far as I know. If you are talking about the DSC, that just applies braking to each of the rear wheels independently to act like 'rear wheel steer' or a very simple LSD. No reduction in engine power as far I am aware.

Hi everyone , loving my Z3 , I've had it for 5 weeks now , getting used to driving it and what fun its .
I want to replace the four tyres , they have been on the rims for a long time, so I want to renew them .
front 225/45R17, rear 245/40R17
so the question I'm asking , what brand would you recommend ?

Thanks

Really depends on your budget. Michelin Pilot 4 or 5 are a good top end tyre but with top end price. Many swear by Avon ZV7s as a good match for a Zed and they are good value too. Uniroyal rainsports are also a good midrange too

Hi, Im based in Abingdon , Oxfordshire , any idea where or if there are any Z3 meet ups near me ??
Just seen this...the breakfast meets (from 09:30 on the 1st Thursday of every month) at Milletts Farm garden centre are popular with any make of car. I usually take a Z3 re-body. There was a Tribute 250SWB from Witney there this month.

The Witney Motor Show (evening event) takes place on the 1st Thursday in July.
