Hi folks, I have to replace the forward/ back seat switch on my roadster, but as it's the later model with the big YELLOW plug - I am struggling as they do not seem to be available, has anyone done this and if so where did you get it ? I have had the seat out and it's far more complicated than the earlier version. But the motor runs in both directions when powered from the battery so I can only blame the switch. Or do you know better ? that would not surprise me on this forum. all comment gratefully received, Best regards

which side do you need car side or seat side?
People have successfully spliced them in before

The sport seat has a "Micro switch strap" on the back panel to detect when the seat is right back. It's located under the seats back plastic cover. About 250mm long by about 10mm. Check that it's not broken or the problem.

I have successfully swapped in a new seat forward/back switch. Ended up buying a damaged seat off a wrecker nd sapping the side panel and switch over. I could not figure out how to remove the switch knob without breaking it, so just swapped the whole side panel.

The seat is the drivers side and as my admiral and I both use the car, it has had a lot of use. She is a mere 4ft nine inches tall, I am a bit taller at 5' 6 so the seat has been moved a lot. The seat switch feels loose and has been awkward to use for ages although it does work in a fashion, still does up/down and back only. If the Micro switch strap was broken would it work at all ? at present the seat will move back but not forward. I did buy a side panel and switch from a breaker but when I looked at it with the seat out my nerve failed. have you any details of your splice available ?
Was in your part ( N. Z. ) of the world 3 year back wonderful place. Many thanks for the post. regards

I should have a facelift seat side base yes.

where are you based?
Hi, Do you have a side panel ? I am in Manchester M7. Just had some bad news from the garage __ rust holes in the trailing arms.
So do you have a pair of them to suit my car ?? as well. Thought I replied to you after this last message from you but cannot see it on the thread ? Best regards thanks for the help so far.

I could not figure out how to remove the switch knob without breaking it,
The plastic 'knob' just pulls straight off the switch. I have had mine on and off numerous times without damage. Admittedly they do feel like they are going to break when you pull them but they do come off. Then just push them back on and they clip into place.
