My metal door skin does rub ever so slightly on the front edge of the rear tub where it's screwed to the B pillar. Don't notice or feel it when opening or closing the door but there's a tiny greenness where paint has rubbed so it's pretty close. The grp there is already quite thin so don't really want to sand any more off. Don't want to clogg dan's build thread with my problems so I'll post pics and eventual solution to my own biild thread.
Mine was like that but there was also a gap between the metal and the grp at that point so I bent the metal out to meet the grp which then gave enough clearance so that it doesn't rub.

The inner edge of tub needed sanding back to stop the door skin touching it, and allowing for the paint thickness that will be applied. Second photo doesn’t really show the step, but it’s about 1.5mm to get the clearance

Thqt's really good. Eapecially the driver's side. Wish I could but I just don't think I can get my door front edges that close. They'd catch on the wing when door is opened.

If it helps, I was told to adjust the door edge to meet the front clam, not the other way round.
I think this is due to the way it folds into the front clam

Oh. Yes. I can see how that would work. 💡

I did my best to get my front clam as far back as possible. But, thinking about it now, i can see how that didn't help at all, at all.
Gonna slide the front clam forward a few mm. I really think that's the cause of my problem.

To pull in the lower edges on the front wing I have fitted the Sill Locators from Grassbank.
This has really helped on the drivers side and the panels are good now.
For added strength the pins have tiger seal as an additional source to secure them to the clam.
The pins do need to be located very lowdown inside the clam, and a slightly longer pin would have made life a bit easier with screws being 10mm up from the bottom edge, rather than 5mm.

Just about finished and happy with gaps, then decided the lower door edge could probably be tighter to the sill 🤦🏻‍♂️
I’ll take another look tomorrow night but expect to e tend the door down another 2mm

Aircon pipe.
This was resting heavily on the front valence/bumper support bracket.
I have notched the top bar so the pipe runs through the bar and is under less stress
Another little job no one else will ever see 😬

I would put some foam tape or something on the metal, or that fridge pipe will rub through eventually where it is touching the bar.

If it's good enough for @Dxbolton , but I was going to say the same. I usually tie-wrap a sacrificial larger hose around the main hose, but there isn't any space to do that. It's a shame that you have finished it, because a little bit of grinding could remove the front edge and probably stop the rubbing. If it gets too weak, you could add a small piece of bolted-on bracing to the top.

It's all these small modifications that are the fun bits for me - no two of these cars should ever be the same

It has spent 18 months bent up over the bar and no chaffing has occurred.
The edges have all been rounded off so nothing should snag.
all the tension it was under has now gone 😁. I’m happier now than before, so onto the next pre paint task.
