Katie’s car is an older 3.0 so may not have the DSC. Or they may all have it. Can’t remember.

I’m probably catching up with Katie over the next few days when we’re on hols that way. So I’ll take my laptop with me.

Katie stay on my case to pack the laptop and arrange to meet!
It’s got DSC

@mrscalex are you still coming to beautiful Whitby this weekend?!

Hello I have the same car that you have a 3.0 and I have successfully fixed mine, I have the INPA/DIS cable and software and I have done lots of troubleshooting, I am a bit far from York in North London but if you fancy a drive here I can give it a go and hopefully fix it, I have replacement sensors for everything since I bought lots of parts when troubleshooting mine. In my case I had problems first with the wheel speed sensors, but after that a little known fact is DSC cars have sensors under the passenger seat that go bad if they get wet which is possible even if you have had the smallest water leak as they seat right at the bottom and are covered by thick insulation foam.
Mario thank you!!! I definitely wish you lived a little nearer ☺ It’s a frustration living so far from so many of the great members!!

Lights touchwood have since gone out and not re-surfaced. I am wondering if it could have just been unusually high temperatures sending it a bit doolally or if there is actually something more to it.....?!

Hi Katie I don't know if this helps ive had a similar problem though mines a 2.0 with ASC I eventually took it today to a local BMW specialist who has managed to identify the problem as a faulty wheel sensor total cost inc parts and labour £175 , but hopefully no more lights

I had the exact same problem on my Z3 3.0 I SPORT 2002. Both lights came on. It started as an intermittent fault then eventually they stayed on. I used a code reader connected to the under bonnet plug. You need an adapter lead from the 20 pin to OBD. As somebody else has said this is important because the one under the dash will not read chassis faults only engine. The fault code told me that one of the two pressure sensors fitted to the master cylinder was faulty. It will tell you either 1 or 2 depending on which one. I changed both as a precaution. They are difficult to get at! If you take the main flexible pipes off the master cylinder you can get at them. Bleeding the brakes was an issue. I did not then have the software to run the ABS pump whilst bleeding. I managed in the end. Their is another thread on this topic. Hope you find this of assistance. Start with using a code reader.

Had to change one of my sensors a while back, the big bit of tin that shields the master cylinder and the other bits around it does come out. Eventually. If you're tempted to do the same, bear in mind that the holes for the studs and nuts that locate it are slotted, no need to remove the nuts, just slacken them a bit. Managed to shear one of the studs before I noticed the slots.

I put Katie’s car on INPA at the weekend.

The dash lights weren’t on but I picked up faults on both rear ABS sensors.

@mrscalex - well done that man. Hopefully Katie can get them sorted and the warning lights will stay off.
@Little Lady Katie - I was waiting to see the outcome of the code read before replying. Seems that you are on the way to being sorted. If you fancy a run out "up north" or need assistance give a shout and we can arrange to meet up at some time.
