Advice on New Head Unit Please

i have a flip up screen in mine which has usb and line in for phone, i have a camera wired up to it also and usually have fast and furious tokyo drift playing while driving lol mainly for the music but also have music video cds which i play, just like the flip up screen factor

hey Jim ;-) the install is straight forward, its plug and play bar the camera which you just wire from the back of the head unit and through the bulkhead, will get a few pics up later man ;-)

Hi Dave I wondered about a flip up one so I could have Sat Nav, but thought the centre cabin vents would stop it rising enough and the screen would be pointing down and make it hard to see. Would love to see the setup.

We used to have the Pioneer 7" flip. They are good but they do cover the Heater vents so its not ideal to have it up in cold weather. this is what we had

Still on original bmw tape deck and radio ...oh and the cd in the boot...it looks retro and correct,and yes it all works

I have the Business cd player but coupled to my Parrot hands free, so have mp3, cd, radio, ipod, usb, Bluetooth, headphone jack, to connect in anyway i please.

so Kitcat, yes its the same as Billz setup, now the screen dosent have to be up if you dont want it up, there is a function to retract it and have it normal flat face, its not everyones cup of tea but i like my toys so couldnt think of a better system, for me ;-)

Yes I do like toys as well but also mindful to try an keep original so won't get rid on the old stuff when I get a new toy.
Like when I converted the boot back from the 6cd changer hump to no hump, boot trim now in loft just in case.

i would be the same myself with any changes sa if i evr wanted to sell the car i would change it back to original and keep my toys for the next car lol

I have had alpine 9880r and now I bought
ALPINE UTE-72BT - almost the same you want just without cd player. I use id only for Bluetooth streaming paired with android 4.4.1 phone. Works like a charm!

The only thing you mus consider is the fact that you should use preout from the radio into the factory oem apm - not! the power amp output you are using now... it degrades sound so much.

It is plain simple - made it myslef in 30min.
