I pack light and buy whatever I forgot and when the wife buys too much we post our clothes home so she can take her treasures in the car and plane. That's how our carvings and clock from Germany made the trip. In our suitcases. Just the essentials in carry ons. JIM

Hi @billz, quick question... where do you stick the Switzerland Motorway vignette sticker? I think it should go where we used to have our tax disc.

I think that's the best way to travel. Check with the locals for directions to the places they go to avoid tourists and you'll have a much more pleasant and inexpensive holiday! JIM

Googy We have been to Ainhoa which is a really nice village just at the foothills of the Pyrenees and on the French/ Spanish boarder and about an Hour away from San Sebastian. So if thats any thing to go by then that area should be nice

We have done a slight change to our plans. Could not see the point going into Andorra just for the evening and leaving in the morning, so instead we are going down to Roses in Spain on the Friday and should get there around 2 to 3pm so plenty of chill out time before driving down to the villa
Lovely place Roses stopped there a few years ago enjoy

Did 6 nights in San Sebastian last month and enjoyed it - very handy for nipping back over the border to Biarritz or Bayonne. Some reasonable drives down the coast road towards Bilbao. We moved on to Santander for 3 nights which was also good and then took ferry home from there to Plymouth.
The weather is changeable in San Sebastian but you can always retreat to the pinchos (tapas) bars which we had to one very wet afternoon. Weekends are very busy but like everything it all depends what you like.
