Flipping eck brother that's amazing. It reminds me of my old 1series m sport wheel which was perfect.

Not sure what he charges these days, but mine was £105 + my original wheel, which he then refurbs and sells on to the next person. I worked near where he lived and he fitted mine for an extra tenner on top.

@Brian H has the alcantara version on his car.

And don't forget all of those great prescribed drugs which make things even more interesting. Hope you meet up with Frankie this week and thanks for the offer to accept parts for me. Maybe PM the address in case I need it. Will try to keep items small as I know you're restricted due to weight and size for air travel. JIM

Update, have driven it about a bit. Getting used to the lowered ride and look of it. I spoke to a nice chap who owns a German specialist garage a few doors from my new 'bachelor pad'. He's an ex audi mechanic but mad on BMs ( handy for me with both). Asked him about replacing the shocks for om and his response was why? Apparently the more power the bigger 'tank slapper' you get when the a£se steps out. That's why people do it. Zeds are renowned for wallowing. Any views on this? I've had some wine if that helps?

My new local mechanic neighbour. Not saying it's right as, in my historical BMW ownership experience, the ride is pretty solid. . Better than inferior Marques, including audi. It's a comment on the wobble you get when driving hard on bends. I, like many, drive erm enthusiastically.

Main thing is Alex, how does your car drive? Sometimes people pass comment without ever having any experience of the real thing. My car has been lowered by 50mm and fitted with K&W suspension, has staggered wheel set up and believe me it doesn't " wallow". The only thing I'm looking to add are some wheel spacers in the future. Oh, and I do drive mine " enthusiastically" too, it spends most of it's time in sport mode with ASC off. Just enjoy it. :D

Mine's already lowered. My issue was I wanted to restore it to stock though was advised to stick with lowered.
I don't know what stock is! All I know is the ride is great. Touch sensitive. I'll keep it this way. And it suits the engine.
Getting in my 'official' car if feels like a Bentley but that's normal I guess.
The zed is awesome though. Hard to think of ways to improve it and I've got a dirty tan to boot!

Best thing then Alex is to ignore the Ex Audi man and enjoy your car. also enjoy your wine when you're not driving.Cheers, Tony.:)

He's ex audi but BMW mad and has numerous rides including 8series (!?!) So he's best of both worlds. I'm not going to ignore him at all tony; he's going to look after my two German 'whips'. What i do with 'em is my shizzle.
And booze and driving don't go at all.
Appreciate your advice.

Welcome Alex
Good to hear that you love the car. There is definitely something compelling about the Zed.
I can endorse what Gaz says about Jack's work. If you go that route you won't be disappointed.
My re trimmed wheel has transformed the appearance of the interior and the feel is so much better. The good thing is it maintains the integrity of the car which you would lose if you go for away from the original spec.
Let us know which way you go but visit Jack's website to get a feel for the quality of his work.

Hi all, having had my beloved a few weeks I've realised I quite like the handling of the 'slammed' suspension. What I don't like is bashing what I assume is the sump on most speed humps I go over. I felt trapped in my local gym as the little lumps were killing it. A bi-stander grimaced this evening as i smacked another road lump. Shame cause it handles amazingly. No roll at all. Stock shocks on my radar! I could drive it 24hrs a day, it's immense.

I ground the speed humps outside my daughters school if I don't go over them at 1mph. The school run mums love getting stuck behind me... That's with the Factory sports suspension. A slight angle helps to lift the car a bit, but it's a pain alright. The exact reason I don't want to go any lower...

It's def from the front and the bill for fixing that 2.8 lump should right it off for sure. Sorry, it's stock jobs. I tried it though Cardiff roads don't suit it. Currently look for them.

It will be the front cross brace, if it is unbearable, swap to standard springs and fit H&R Anti Roll Bars, you will find the handling transformed beyond lowering as it addresses the lateral movements rather than the up and down movement that springs and dampers are for, and handling performance is mostly about the lateral movement.

Does anyone know if the z3 takes other BMW model springs? Struggling to find sh stock springs and I'm bored of grounding my beauty on every speedbump/cats eye I cross ... Thanks
