All the ways to make it through your midlife crisis without losing your shirt on a single page😀

That’s matter of opinion. If you bought the Z from new…

@Rod and Kate , shouldn’t this have been on the ‘ Spotted, give them a wave’ page  =))

Someone should complain under the trade descriptions act about "brilliant sports cars" including an MGF, TR7 and a Scimitar SS1, surely.

The headline should be "every old convertible sportscar".

That's a bit harsh isn't it? :) I'm sure there's people out there who like a TR7 and for some strange reason I have a softspot for scimitar.

I am planning to buy a TR7 soon but they are still crap.
Those scimitar SS1 things were truly awful. I had a neighbour many moons ago who had one (cos she had no money but delusions of grandeur). It was 3 years old and wouldn't start most days. The AA man spent more time outside my house than I did. I would have a 'proper' Reliant Scimitar SE6 but not one of those.

Cant be that …..there’s no Triumph Spitfire …… the best of them all….

Ah yes. My next door neighbour's 19 year old son has one. It's quite painful listening to him trying to start it. It fires up around 2 days out of 10. The other 8 they spend most of the day with their heads buried in the engine bay. Apparently 'easy start' isn't so easy on an old BL lump after all!

Had a spitfire 4 (mark one) amd a MK 3 in the past. Were as reliable as any car at the time, and more so than many. As always, cars need regular preventative attention.

My spitfire was a mk4 and never had a problem with it.
It was such a fun car .. wish I still had it now
