lots of battery chargers take a long time to work due to their size. my CTEK mx5 takes about 12 hours to recover a dead battery

if i'm leaving the zed untouched for a week or so i plug mine it to maintain the battery, money well spent

My Z3 does the same but its parked on the road as I live on a walkway. So I've just bought a solar panel trickle charger. I user one in the horses field to tricky charge the battery. Hoping it works in the Z3 cos I don't intend to drive it much in the winter.

Can confirm the Lidl charger works OK, very good value, I just put mine on if car has not been used for a couple of weeks ---4-6 hrs its fully charged again.
The under bonnet connection being very usefull.

Will have to check where the under bonnet connection is. Still waiting on solar panel. OH nicked my one for the horses field to charge his second Jag. Apparently it's been doing an ok job. But I'll need it back in a couple of months to make a small paddock to restrict the grazing of one horse. He'll have to buy his own then.
