From what I understand available as standard in the "sportline" edition (the one this car is) that was like an ///M pack for Mercedes back then, with the AMG being a totally independent company.
Lets hope we come into an agreemnt with the owner.
The sportline had a slightly modified chassis too. W124’s are so well/over engineered and that one looks stunning..should easily outlast you

Yes, it checked ok, and having one of the fullest service books I have ever seen, it will be my wife‘s new car.

Wow! I see a business venture here! Those rare old ford's need shipping back here and recommissioning. Big ££££ over here for those, and some of those BMW's The 2002 etc would do very well.

I can imagine. A mate of mine imported British sports cars from California back in the 1990's. MGB's and the likes. He did very well at it, used to go over and buy them and have them shipped back. Usually came back with about a dozen. I was always confused thinking they'd be no market here for LHD British cars even though they were mint from the climate, he never struggled to sell them.And now check out the costs of bringing cars and motorcycles over from Europe. My outlaws live in Malta, which, judging by the pictures in this thread, have very similar attitudes to Greece with old cars.
As they drive on the left they only get cars destined for the UK, Japan or Australasia. Due to very expensive duties on new cars, they import a lot of old stuff from New Zealand, Japan and the odd UK ones. Used cars are VERY expensive over there.
My FIL bought an Astra from us a few years ago, found someone who took it on a big transporter by road to Malta, along with around 7 other cars. As he paid us the going rate here for the car, even paying for transport, import duties in Malta and reg fees, it worked out around 1,500 euros cheaper than buying the same car there.

Annual tax for this is 1.350€ since it is over 20 years old. Had it been younger it would have luxury tax added and would be over 3k yearly. But next year I will do the papers to register it as a classic, so it will be 250 tax+150 yearly renewal of licence plates (the new law now allows classics to move freely all year as long as they have an mot pass. (One a year now for them).
