A chrome surround for the hazard switch would look nice there too mate. Top job, nice bling!

Yes mate, just search BMW Z3 chrome on eBay, not cheap though! You can even get window switch surrounds and more.

God I hate this forum sometimes =))
Found them but it has occurred to me that the window switch surrounds won't fit due to the gear stick surround being to close to the switch, that saved me a few quid :D

Looks superb Sean. You and Ant can go head to head in the interior stakes. A good eye for detail the pair of you.

Well done Sean. Looks really good. The window switch trim won't fit unfortunately as you have observed, but you could get chrome switches...;)

I had new black mats with a red edge trim made.... you could do black with blue trim if you wanted ??. My OE mats were shot anyhow, so I took them to a trimmer who used them as the template to cut new ones. I did have the driver side mat extended by about 150mm so it went well under the seat, and the passenger mat extended in the same way and had it made longer on the opposite end so it would reach to just short of the glove box. The edge trim was a "ribbon" of thick-ish red fabric something like tent canvas weight, which I preferred over the usual rug edge trim of looped thread stuff.

It's actually a fairly straight forward swap over. Small adaptor washer and a little change to the rear of the wheel center sprocket to take the Z3 slipring. The rest is elementary. My car has a single stage airbag, whereas the Z4 has a 2 stage airbag. The answer is to swap the airbags... They have exactly the same mountings though, so a simple exchange.
The most hassle comes from getting someone to do a little bit of machining / turning on the rear side to get the center hub section to immitate the Z3 set-up, but not complicated for someone with access to a milling machine.
