Will you be able to operate it manually in the case of a flat battery (I'm assuming your battery is in the boot too?)

Well done Sean, neat mod. Notice in the video you still used the chrome handle to lift the boot lid? have to get out of that habit?

Yes I was conscious of that and actually did it again to make sure it was easy to lift from the bottom.

It was a consideration and I found one on ebay for £25 but decided against it as they are still electric and I would have the same issue should the battery go flat.

There are plenty on eBay for £15-20

Great minds and all that but my emergency access is behind the BMW roundel ;)
