If anyone has problems accessing the alerts in the top right corner you need to clear your browser cache. Windows users can hold the Ctrl button and press F5. Mac users can do the usual act of sacrificing a chicken to summon the devil, before closing and reopening their browsers.

That should clear it. Results may vary!
One small observation Gaz, is that the recent posts header used to be at the other side of the counter ie. the counter was in between What's new and recent posts Don't know if that matters or not.

Tony.

Only matters if people prefer it where it was before. It's 3 lines of code in the navigation template needing to be moved 1 line up, so no real biggie to change.

@GazHyde, just to let you know that when a forum update happens it seems to delete the permalinks in my showcase, I have had to re-instate them a couple of times and I see they have gone again :(

I'll get round to updating them again soon.

Showcase was updated to the latest version yesterday, but I've just checked both mine and your showcase and the links are showing for me. Even if I look at them without being logged in...

Sorry Gary should have said, the links are there but they no longer point to the specific post, they now just re-direct to a page. when you click on the link you can see the address it should go to in the address bar but its like the link is no longer valid so it opens up a showcase page instead. Hope this makes sense?

Hi Brian, I've tried 3 different browsers on my Windows 8 machine, and my iPad and they all open the links up fine.

Could you post a screenshot of the page you see?

Can someone else try? Click this link - https://zroadster.org/showcase/brian-h-dakar-z3-3-0i.8/

Then click on any of the links shown below...

Hmmm, I'm wondering if it's because you are changing the name of the showcase each time you update it.

How it looks currently.

When I hover on Update 17

It shows the existing URL for me.

If I then click that link the system sorts itself out (as expected) and shows the updated & correct URL

I'm thinking this is some kind of browser cache snag you are seeing as you are the one who has changed the Showcase name. Can you try dumping the cache on your browser and then see if it resolves the "new" url?

Bingo, yep thats the problem, I adjusted the title to suit some of the old permalinks and they work with the correct title in place.

Question can I just use the unique post number in the permalinks?

Got there in the end. Not sure you can link direct to the permalink number, as all it is is a url which has to include the full path.

I'll have a think though...

Haven't been able to open my alerts from the top right button for days. Only way is if I catch one of the single alert bands if they show up while I'm on forum. Also just noticed I can't open conversations and can't open the menu. This is on my iPhone which is my only tool I have, no pod, pad, computer, etc. that's all I've found so far. Hope this helps!! JIM

Only thing I'm finding Gaz is when I go on my alerts it's only picking a small handful up. I'd got a fair few replies on the exhaust thread this morning and my alerts said I'd only got one.

I'll be running the forum core update this morning so we will see what happens after that.

You don't get an alert for every update to a thread, only the first one until you read all updates - then you will get another. Would be a nightmare getting an alert for every post!

Took a bit longer than expected as my internet connection kept dropping out uploading the files...

Should be good now, but got a couple of things to tidy up!
